Health Management

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” -Albert Einstein

Unfortunately, many groups manage their medical plan in a way that fits Einstein’s definition of insanity.   Each year groups review the market place to avoid a large increase in their medical costs.  Some group change insurance providers, others change benefits.  In the end, they find themselves facing the same increases the following year and making the same changes that lead to the same increases.

To truly effect change, you must change the manner in which employees purchase health care.  Asking them to be more prudent consumers and rewarding positive behavior is the direction a lot of groups who have successfully managed their premium increase have gone.  Wellness may be the latest buzzword in the industry, but few can argue that rewarding employees for leading healthier lifestyles is a bad thing for health care costs and employee productivity.
